Hastings and
Districts Anglers Club
History
The
Hastings and Districts Anglers Club Inc was formed 24th August
1965.
Mr Joe
Townsend was elected Chairman at the first meeting, later to
become President once Club rules were circulated and adopted by
the Club.
The
Club adopted the rules of the Otago Anglers Club. The Patangata
Hall was purchased by the Club in October 1977 for use as a Club
Lodge because of its setting beside the Tuki Tuki River
The
Club has met on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of
each month since its inception.
Two
Fishing Clubs had previously existed, the Karamu and the
Heretaunga Anglers Clubs.
Present Day
The club currently
has a membership of 70 members and operates club meetings field
trips and other activities that are associated with freshwater
angling. |
